# blockchain.mit.edu — Digital assets, tokenization, stablecoins, and AI

Research and teaching from MIT on digital assets, tokenization, stablecoins,
and AI — from the MIT Digital Currency Experiment and the economics of the
blockchain to stablecoin design, CBDCs, and the economics of AGI. With MIT
Sloan executive education courses and a live blockchain demo.

## The MIT Digital Currency Experiment

In October 2014, all 4,494 undergraduates at MIT were offered access to
Bitcoin — one of the largest field experiments ever run on the diffusion of
a new technology. When natural early adopters are delayed relative to their
peers, they are more likely to reject the technology altogether — and their
rejection spills over to everyone else.
